Should Brats Get XP Penalties?
I talked to your DM The High Dorkus… If you don’t clean your room, he’ll impose a geas that inhibits XP absorption. Oh, and he’ll decrease your midichlorian count.

I recently found a RPG called Kidworld and it reminded me of a book titled “The Girl Who Owned a City”. Penned by OT Nelson in 1975 it’s a short book in the post-apocalyptic (plague variant) genre. It is a YA book and fairly short, but Nelson really packed a good story in the book, dealing with children taking over a world devoid of adults, kinda like a global Lord of the Flies.
I came across a post at Livejournal that showed a letter from the book vs a letter from a Kidworld campaign. Both are pretty cool. Left is the book, right is the RPG.

Larry Elmore cover for Star Frontiers, TSR, 1982.
The Star Frontiers covers are the only sci-fi works by Elmore I know. The vast majority of his art is classic fantasy.
That crashed ship shows some Chris Foss influence, either directly or via Star Wars and everyone else inspired by Foss.
I loved Gamma World and Star Frontiers growing up. Battling Sathar incursions and watching fellow Vrusk crew members die in a vaccuum because there was no one spacesuit fits all for them. The game really didn’t come into it’s own for me until this suppliment though. It was absolutely a game changer and did everything right for the game:
