i really like this one.. love http://enterthesystem.tumblr.com/
Do you know anything about hackers?
Can you jam with the console cowboys in cyberspace?
Ever read Neuromancer? Ever experience the newwave? nextwave? dreamwave?
OR CYBERPUNK!?
…..
Where’d you learn about all this hacker stuff?
In there… It’s a world where you’re judged by what you say and think; not by what you look like. A world where imagination and curiosity equals power…
— Julia Stiles, Ghostwriter (PBS), “Who is Max Mouse”, 1993
The notion of cyberpunk was published in ‘83 by Bruce Bethke. Although, Gibson had already brought that dystopian future alive in by ‘81 he just didn’t coin the word. Gibson, Shirley, and Bethke had a seriously vision of what could have been. The 50’s utopian vision was rejected for a hardcore world rife with technology that invaded and permeated every facet of society.Â
It seems no one had it right though. There is no 50’s harmonious utopia with jetpacks and flying cars, the 80’s didn’t bring about the corporate techno machine that Gibson feared, Bathke dreamed of and Shirley inspired. The 90’s passed by in a swirl of misidentity struggling to figure out how to recover from the societal disaster that the 80’s was. The turn of the century has plagued us with fear of buugey men and yet more turbanheaded foes.
Nearly 3 decades later and we have no more defined our technolust than an iphone or mp3 player. Â People desire books over emedia and the youngest generations long for ways that are hardly 3 years old.Â
Tumblr is as close to Julia’s rant as I’ve seen (currently); and I’ve seen alot. We are judged on what we post, how we think and act. We gain followers and cling for social media fame as our personalities drive us. We want to be alone in our cliques knowing that a single word can create harmony of mind amongst those who get it.Â
this ^^^ is a very disjointed ramble spawned from some post i read about “reblog this if you prefer books over a kindle”. my mind has gone overboard. I want that cyberpunk dystopia I saw in the 80’s. I want that Shadowrun world and a society infused with technology and the visceral cyberpunk meme. I fear I’m going to become too old and it’s going to happen and I’ll miss it somehow.Â
i think i’ll go make some gifs… and take my meds.
I hereby coin the term… “cyberfucked” cause the genre is all out of sorts..
Somehow reminds me of Serial Experiments Lain… and Pulse…

DEEP RESONANCE
DEEP RESONANCE
Its whisper comes zero to ones
ones and zeros like the shadows
I can feel. It is real.
have no fear. It is here.
I hold still and I will
hear its voice, what a noise
strange data-cloud, comes to shout:
“You mild child grow wild.
Become mine, get ready to shine.”
I become one, since then it was fun
my mind, gets signed
now I can hack, without my datajack
learn the channels, cut my panels
check the complex forms, break the older norms
listen to its view, always become true.
The Nexus is home, never be alone…
my tribe has to fight for the right of pure light.

It would be almost criminal to say that unlawful activities, a 486 with a modem and a manic-depressive view of the world make fiction cyberpunk.
